Typhoid, a disease known strange to many. According to global estimates, there are about 16-33 million cases of typhoid every year. I was one of them. It was on the morning of 28th of December when I was not feeling good. I had pain in my whole body and so, I kept lying on the bed. Throughout the day, the TV was on and everyone was following the news of Benazir's assassination, which took place a day earlier. As night fell my condition became worse. I had fever by then and was not able to eat. I hardly slept through the night, and by morning I had started vomiting. It kept getting worse day by day. My parents got some medicines for me, but they were good for nothing. One night things went so horrible that I didn't know where I was, or who I was talking to. It's a symptom of typhoid. At the time my parents had no idea of what was happening to me, and were extremely worried. I finally went to see a doctor. He gave me some anti biotics and also took my blood test. The tests revealed that the number of platelets in my body had gone extremely low. The lower the platelets, the more chance of bleeding. The normal number of platelets found in a healthy person is between 150,000 and 400,000. The number of platelets in my body was only 40,000.
It also revealed that my TLC(white blood cells) had also gone very low, which means that my body was unable to fight the strange disease. I was immediately admitted to a hospital and from there, my road to recovery began. A doctor came to see me and after finding out about my symptoms, he took my blood from an injection and sent it to the labs to check if I tested positive for malaria or typhoid. The next day, the doctor told that I had tested positive for typhoid. Typhoid, I had heard this word before but I was not able to recall at the time that from whom did I hear this word. I thought hard about it and then it suddenly came to my mind. A friend of mine had suffered from typhoid. Now I know what he must have gone through. Eventually, everyone in my family came to know that I was suffering from typhoid. As days became weeks I got better and better. After 12 days in the hospital I was willing to go back home but the doctor did not let me, and rightly so because I still had high fever and vomiting. Even after 3 weeks in the hospital my fever was high and there is was no sign if it's going to end. The good news was that my platelets, which had once gone down till 70, were now more then 100,000. After 25 days in the hospital I was finally back home and with fever still high, there was not much I was able to do except wait. Slowly but surely the fever I had went lower and lower until it finished. But that was not the end, the pain in my stomach was still there and I was given light food to eat, as my stomach was not able to digest much. All in all everything came back to normal after a few days. I was infected by typhoid for more then 40 days. I also got the answer of why my fever was not going even after 30 days. A bone marrow test revealed that anti biotics have little or no effect in my body.
At the end, I would like to thank everyone who prayed for me during this difficult time.

The war is over

Toshiba has decided not to develop any more HD DVD players, which means that the HD war is finally over and Blu Ray came out as the winner. Although HD DVD was more cheaper than Blu Ray, the reason for Blu Ray winning was simply because of it's availability in every market. Toshiba's decision now leaves a million HD DVD customers stranded with no option but, to switch to Blu Ray. So if you are thinking of buying a Blu Ray player I would prefer the Sony PlayStation 3. It's the perfect Blu Ray player with excellent quality, and it's way cheaper than other Blu Ray players, although it's built for gaming.

Games for pc you might like
With so many titles coming it's difficult to make a choice. So I selected a number of games which I like, and most of them are highly rated.
1. Call of Duty 4 : Arguably one of the best First Person Shooters ever made. Thi
s game combines outstanding graphics with an excellent gameplay, although the campaign is a bit short ( I finished it in five hours ) it's really interesting. And unlike Crysis, COD 4 doesn't require high end hardware to run it. Call of Duty 4 was awarded '2007 Game of the Year' award.

2. NFS Carbon : NFS titles have always been a hit, and Carbon was no exception. It offers some serious street racing, with the police chasing. You have to win races to get control of territories. Some people may not like the fact that all the racing is done at night, but I thought it was ok. In my book it's the greatest NFS to date.
Battlefield 2142: The game takes place in the year 2142 when mos
t of the earth is completely covered by heavy snow and extremely cold temperatures making it impossible to live. Two superpowers of the time, the EU and the PAC now fight for the last surviving land near the equator. Choose your side and go in to the Battlefield with futuristic weapons, tanks and helicopter gun ships. It's one of the best multi player games.

Microsoft wants Yahoo!

Microsoft says it wants to buy Yahoo for 44 billion US dollars. Of course everyone knows the reason behind it. Microsoft wants to compete with Google. But i dont think it will be of any help to Microsoft because, Google will become even more competitive and create new and better services. Microsoft's CEO Steve Ballmer said that the merger would help offer a better alternative to people because today, the game is totally dominated by one player.

The champs finally beat the T20 champs

Australia finally beat India in a T20 match for the first time. It was all Australia from the start as the Indian batting order completely collapsed and that gave the Aussies an easy target of seventy three. Full scorecard here.
